A Vesak pandal projected using laser technology is to be unveiled at Galle Face Green at the Kolomtotha Vesak Zone for public viewing by President Maithripala Sirisena on May 10, local media reported.
The laser technology pandal has been put together on a concept by the Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga and will be exhibited till May 14. The Kolomthota Vesak Zone is jointly organised by the Ports and Shipping Ministry, the SLPA and the Port Buddhist Association will be the fourth time to be staged on Galle Face Green and the Colombo Port Complex.
According to reports, the laser panda is 40-feet long and 60-feet tall and is to portray the important aspects of the Buddha’s life.
