The Ministry of Public Administration is to file legal action against 26 former ministers of the Yahapalana Government if they fail to vacate their official residences by the end of this week.
Secretary to the Ministry S. Hettiarachchi told Times Online that these ministers were yet to vacate their official residences though nearly four months had passed since the presidential election.
He said that they normally give a period of three months for former ministers to vacate their residences so that ministers of the new Government can move in.
"We informed the Speaker earlier about this matter, but since Parliament has since been dissolved, we have written to the Secretary General of Parliament informing that we will take legal action against these former ministers if they fail to vacate the official residences by the end of this week," he added.
