The leopard carcass was discovered in the Preston Estate in Agrapathana, Nuwara Eliya on Monday morning. While the cause of death has not been ascertained, the Nuwara Eliya Wildlife Officers are conducting investigations to determine if the leopard had ingested any poison.
A leopard carcass was discovered in the Preston Estate on Sunday as well. Residents say leopards encroach on their homes to prey on domestic animals. They say that humans have also been attacked.
