Letter Box scarcity hits Northern postal services

Northern residents allege that many of the letter boxes which were removed while roads were modernized in the province three years ago, were yet to be restored at their original locations.

The lack of letter boxes means that residents have to go all the way to the post office to post their letters. This requires people to sometimes travel great distances to post letters.

Residents are perplexed as to why the Road Development Authority (RDA) has so far made no attempts to restore the letter boxes, which were removed from many junctions in the province while roadworks were taking place. They point out that it is now three years since these road development projects concluded.
