A person has been killed due to a lightning strike in Opanayake, Ratnapura yesterday (Oct 9).
The victim, 64-year old Haril Gunaratne, had died while receiving treatment at the Kahawatta Hospital.
Police said that an autopsy is to be carried out on the victim's remains today.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Police.
