All liquor stores in the Matale Divisional Secretariat will be closed today (Jan 05) following an instruction issued by the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media.
The instruction was issued in lieu of the special ceremony during which the Tripitaka will be made a part of the country's national heritage.
The ceremony will take place at the Matale Alu Viharaya (Rock Temple).
