Lorry reverses into train ; eight passengers injured
Eight persons have been injured after a train had collided with a lorry at a rail crossing near Peter's Lane in Dehiwala today (Aug 29).
Police said the victims are receiving treatment at the Kalubowila hospital.
The lorry which had been transporting bricks had rammed into the train while the vehicle was reversing.
According to the Railways Department, the train had been travelling towards Galle from Maradana.

SLAF Bell 212 crashes into Maduru Oya
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.

Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
