Lorry, van collision leave 17 injured ; two critical

Two persons are in a critical condition after an accident involving a lorry and a van in Anuradhapura left 17 persons including two children injured, police said.

According to the police, the accident had occurred when the van had attempted to wrongly overtake the lorry in the vicinity of the Rathmale junction in the area.

The victims which include the driver of the lorry are currently receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura Hospital.
