President Maithripala Sirisena declared open the Lotus Tower – South Asia’s tallest tower measuring 350 metres in Colombo today (Sept 16).
A sum of USD 104 million has been spent for the construction of the tower out of which 80 percent of the cost has been borne by the Chinese Exim Bank.
The tower comprises a telecommunications museum, a hotel, a restaurant, an auditorium, a conference hall, a ballroom, and an observation deck.
