Low pressure area developing - Met Dept

A low pressure area is likely to develop in the Northern Bay of Bengal during next the few days. Therefore, showery and windy conditions are expected to increase in the Western and South-western parts of the island from tomorrow evening (during 17-20^th June), the Department of Meteorology stated. 

Strong winds at times can be expected over the country, particularly over Western slopes of the central hills and Southern provinceand over the Southern sea areas.

Cloudy skies are expected over the southern part of the country.

Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-Western provinces. Fairly heavy falls (more than 75mm) can be expected at some places.

Showers or thunder showers are likely at a few places in the Eastern provinces after 2.00 pm.
