The Meteorological Department, issuing a forecast says that a low pressure zone is likely to develop in the south-east area of the Bay of Bengal today (03).
The low pressure area which is expected to move towards Sri Lanka can cause showers or thunder showers in the Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces.
The forecast also notes that the naval and fishing community are requested to be vigilant about weather advisories issued by the Met. Department.
