Madhumadhawa Aravinda, Deputy Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU), has resigned from his positions in the party yesterday (Oct 8).
He had informed PHU leader Udaya Gammanpila regarding his resignation. However, the reason for his resignation remains unknown.
Aravinda, a supporter of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, in a video circulating on social media recently, had spewed a hate speech on a particular community.
However, the SLPP in a news conference yesterday condemned the remarks made by the PHU Deputy leader.
