The Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter, the Most Ven. Thibbotuwawa Sri Sumangala Thero, in a letter to President Sirisena, has urged him to re-convene Parliament and resolve the current political impasse in the country.
Sri Saddartha Thero, stated that the country's socio-political, economical and religious activities have been affected by the present political crisis.
The present situation has resulted in the malfunctioning of government departments and organizations, the Thero added.
He also said that constitutional measures must be taken in order to restore the country to normalcy.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
