Former sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). he was taken into custody shortly after he arrived at the CID to give a statement this morning (Sept 15).
Aluthgamage was arrested on charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act after a statement was recorded from him. He is to be produced at the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court later today.
