Underworld leader 'Makandure Madush' who has been arrested in Dubai will be deported to Sri Lanka within two weeks, the Fort Magistrates Court heard today (Apr 09).
Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris had informed Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake on the deportation of the suspect during a hearing pertaining to the VIP assasination plot this afternoon.
He also told court that steps are being taken to deport Madush by means of diplomatic intervention and details to this effect cannot be divulged in order to prevent it from reaching third-party sources.
Mr Peiris added that revealing such details would hamper future investigations concerning the suspect.
