A Malaysian naval officer who had fallen sick off Sri Lanka was rescued by Sri Lankan navy personnel today (Jan 30).
Measures were taken by navy personnel to rescue the officer following a notification provided by the Malaysian High Commission to the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre to this effect.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka Navy personnel had taken swift measures to dispatch a fast attack craft towards the south in order to rescue the sick officer.
He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
