A Maldivian state delegation including its Vice President and Speaker will arrive in Sri Lanka on June 14 for a three-day official visit, the Prime Minister's office said.
The delegates are expected to arrive upon a request made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Maldivian Vice President Faisal Naseem and Speaker Mohamed Nasheed will be a part of the delegation that would comprise cabinet ministers from the Maldivian Demoratic Party (MDP).
Parliamentarians representing the MDP and its Governing Council will also constitute the delegation, the Prime Minister's office noted.
Meanwhile, sources from the Prime Minister's office told Times Online that a special representative of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will also visit the country in due course.
