An individual has been arrested with 917 packets of heroin worth nearly Rs 500,000 in Dehiwela today (Mar 28).
The arrest was carried out by police officers attached to the Mount Lavinia Crimes Division.
Following a questioning of the suspect it was revealed that the narcotic had been obtained from the brother of imprisoned drug dealer ‘Vele Suda’. Police said that the brother of Vele Suda too is currently serving an imprisonment sentence.
Meanwhile, the suspect who was arrested today has been identified as a 45-year old.
