Man arrested with firearms and ammunition

The Anti-Vice Squad of the Elpitiya Police has arrested a suspect with several firearms and rounds of live ammunition. Police Media Unit said officers had stopped a car at Kahaduwa, Ambana yesterday and found a T56 weapon along with 29 rounds of live ammunition upon inspection. 

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody along with the weapon and ammunition. Upon further interrogation, police were able to locate a micro pistol and a magazine containing eight rounds of micro pistol ammunition from an address at Pitigala. 

Further investigations are ongoing.
