A youth contracted to throw in mobile phone batteries, drugs and cash into the Welikada prisons is being interrogated, police said.
The youth was arrested on Sunday when he tried to throw a parcel of 10 charged mobile phone batteries, cash and heroin.
Police investigations revealed that the youth has been throwing similar parcels into the Welikada prisons for a payment.
Police said they were trying to ascertain the contact persons inside the prisons with whom the suspect was dealing with.
