A man was killed after being attacked by a manna knife during a brawl in Badureliya yesterday (Aug 26).
Police said the incident had occurred when an argument between two persons had escalated into a fight. The victim was identified as Mahakumarage Premadasa, a 72-year old resident of Pandola.
A post-mortem inquiry and a magisterial inquest are to be carried out on the remains of the victim which has been placed under police protection at the scene of the incident.
Meanwhile, a 59-year old has been arrested in connection with the killing.
