An individual from Bowala was sentenced to death for a murder which took place in June 20, 2002.
The victim was identified as Nimal Pushpakumara. The verdict was delivered following an extensive hearing at the Tangalle High court.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
