Man shot dead in Trinco

An individual has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Trincomalee this morning (11). 

Police identified the deceased as Hendevitharanage Selin Selin Kumar alias 'Thel Kumara.' 

According to reports, two men who arrived in a car had opened fire on the victim, who was inside a lorry parked on the roadside in Sirimapura, Trincomalee, before fleeing. 

The 45-year-old victim, an area resident, succumbed to his injuries upon admission to hospital. 

The motive for the killing is yet to be established and police investigations are ongoing.
