Envoys of Middle Eastern countries affirmed their support to Sri Lanka during a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat today (Dec 9).
Ambassadors representing the countries in the Middle Eastern Ambassadors’ Forum called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat.
During discussions the Middle Eastern Ambassadors’ Forum delegates said the new government would always receive the support and cooperation of the Middle Eastern countries, a statement from the President's media said.
Further, the countries’ pledged continued assistance to Sri Lanka in economic and cultural sectors.
The Ambassadors extended their greetings to President Rajapaksa and said they will commit to further strengthen relations between Sri Lanka and their respective countries.
Ambassadors of Palestine, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Libya and Qatar in Sri Lanka were present at the meeting.
