The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has permitted six companies to reduce prices of imported milk powder with effect from Monday (Dec 9).
A CAA official said a kilogram of imported milk powder will be reduced by Rs 40 while a 400 gram packet will be reduced by Rs 15.
The price revision comes after the government recently introduced tax concessions including the reduction of Value Added Taxes on imported goods from 15 percent to eight percent.
