As a precursor to upcoming General elections on August 5 ensuring COVID-19 health concerns, a mock election process was held in Nuwara Eliya today with the participation of Election Department officials and local independent monitors attached to election monitoring bodies.
At least 99 persons among the selected 150 individuals took part in the voting process at Petru Tamil Maha Vidyalayam, Nuwwara Eliya. The voting process commenced early in the morning and concluded by 12.00pm.
Steps were taken to ensure proper health regulations introduced by the Health Ministry are followed at the polling station. Officials also noted how many voters took part in the process in a given time frame.
