The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) today arrested venerable Akmeemana Dayarathana Thera over the recent intimidation incident of Rohingya refugees who were sheltered in a house in Mount Lavinia. The monk was arrested after a summon issued by CCD to appear today.
Earlier five suspects, including a woman were arrested over the incident and remanded till October 9 by Mount Laviniya courts.
Last week a group of monks claiming to attach to a organization called Sinhale Jathika Balamuluwa tried to invade the safe house where Rohingya refugees were staying in Mount Laviniya.
