The importation and re-exportation of more than 14,000 vehicles had been recorded at the Hambantota Port so far this month, port officials said.
These vehicles had been shipped from Mumbai, Chennai and Singapore, between December 1 and 5.
Officials believe this is the highest number of vehicles to have been imported and re-exported in a month this year.
