The motion to cut off funding to the Prime Minister's office was passed in Parliament a short while ago with 123 MPs voting in favour.
No votes were cast against the motion, with United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MPs deciding to boycott today's sittings as well.
While the UPFA, as the governing party, decided to boycott the sessions, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, who was appointed Education and Higher Education Minister under Mahinda Rajapaksa, as well as independent MP Athuraliye Rathana Thera attended today's sittings.
According to today's results, Wasantha Senanayake, who recently crossed back to the UNP, has also voted for the motion.
