Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksha told Parliament today that there was no impediment to jailed MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardena attending sittings but he may need clearance from the prison doctor as he was awarded at the prison hospital. “He is warded at the prison hospital but he has to be medically fit to attend sittings and hence the doctor has to clear him,” Minister Wijedasa said. On Tuesday Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva charged in parliament that the UPFA MP had been deprived the chance to attend the parliament even though he is entitled to it. He is also said to be suffering from breathing difficulties.
