MR to remain as Opposition Leader - Speaker
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has informed party leaders today (Dec 04) that he will continue to accept Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Opposition Leader in Parliament.
Mr. Jayasuriya had made these remarks at the first party leader's meeting for 2019 that was held at the Parliamentary complex a short while ago.
The Speaker had emphasized the urgency of conducting the Provincial Council polls while also drawing his attention towards the presentation of this year's Annual Budget and the formation of parliamentary committees.
