The Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) clarified today those 48 passengers who arrived at the airport on flight UL 1160 on September 22 were facilitated following all health authority guidelines and were sent for quarantine at a hotel in Kosgoda under the purview of the Sri Lanka forces.
Issuing a statement, Director Operations of the MRIA Shehan Sumanasekara said that all passengers who arrived on the flight were of Sri Lankan origin, and none were Indians.
The response came in the wake of many allegations raised on social media on the chartered flights operated by the apparel factory in Minuwangoda embroiled in the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.
