The Cabinet of Ministers this week approved a proposal made by the Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne to accept the National policy and strategic plan for prevention and management of accidents in Sri Lanka.
Around a million people are hospitalized annually due to accidents and a considerable portion of allocations are spent for them a proposal claimed.
Most of the accidents are reported as road accidents and the majority who die from road accidents are between 15 to 44 years of age, the government news portal reported
