The Navy assisted in the repatriation of 77 Indian fishermen released from Sri Lankan custody yesterday.
As per the request of the Indian government, the 77 fishermen who were apprehended while poaching in Sri Lankan waters were released from Sri Lankan custody and handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ships “Rani Abbakka” and “Ameya” in the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL)North of Kankasanthurai.
