A Navy officer who was remanded over the abduction of 11 youths between 2008 and 2009 has been granted bail by the Colombo High Court today (Jun 14).
Prabath Senaratne, the naval officer was released on a cash bail of Rs 150,000 and two surety bails worth Rs 1 million each.
A travel ban too was imposed on the suspect by Judge Aditya Patabendige who heard the case. Accordingly, the accused was ordered to handover his passport to court.
Meanwhile, the Judge during today's hearing strictly warned the suspect to refrain from threatening the individuals who gave witness against him in the case.
