Navy rendered assistance to bring a critically ill fisherman ashore for immediate treatment in Trincomalee yesterday.
The fisherman who went fishing from the Codbay harbour in Trincomalee for multiday fishing trawler Danushka Putha, had fallen seriously ill due to a heart stroke out at sea.
Upon receipt of this information, Navy promptly dispatched the Fast Attack Craft to the sea area about 8.5 nautical miles off Foul Point. The patient was safely transferred to the naval craft and brought to the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee. Subsequently,he was rushed to the Trincomalee District General Hospital for further treatment.
