Two Russian nationals were rescued from drowning in the Southern seas yesterday (Aug 12).
Navy Spokesman Lieutenant Commander Isuru Suriyabandara said the tourists had been swimming in the Devinuwara beach at the time of the incident.
He noted that they had been rescued by a group of Navy personnel who were in the area at that time.
According to the Navy, the rescued tourists have been identified as those of the ages 28 and 47.
