Devotees flocked to the St Anthony's Church in Kochchikade, in keeping with its special Feast which falls today, nearly two months after the tragic Easter Sunday suicide bombings.
The church was one of the six prime targets of the terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday.
The re-construction of the church had been spearheaded by Navy personnel since the day of the explosions. According to the Navy, the interior work of the Church has been completed while the exterior repair work is still ongoing.
Catholic Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith consecrated the St. Anthony’s Church last evening, in a religious ceremony that was attended by hundreds of devotees.
A High Mass will be held at the Church from 10 am onwards today.
