Three Supreme Court judges and one Appeal Court judge were sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today (Jan 09).
Accordingly, Appeal Court President Preethi Padman Surasena, S. Thurairaja and E.A.G.R Amarasekara were sworn in as the new Supreme Court Judges, while High Court judge K.P Fernando was sworn in as an Appeal Court Judge.
On January 07, the Constitutional Council had approved the names of four new judges nominated by President Maithripala Sirisena to fill the vacant positions in higher courts.
