Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe was appointed as the new Director General for Bribery and Corruption Commission today(Feb 11) before the President and at the same time, Justice Hema Kumudini Wickramasinghe was also sworn in as judge of the Court of Appeal at the Presidential Secretariat before the President, the government news portal reported.

The United States has told Sri Lanka that the disposition of the Iranian naval vessel IRIS Bushehr and its crew is a matter for Colombo to resolve under its own laws and international obligations, while signalling it is in active talks with Sri Lanka to contain Iran’s threat to US interests.
