In the wake of a new COVID-19 cluster linked to the factory belonging to Brandix, the Government, previous restrictions aimed at minimising the spread of the disease in the country have been reimposed.
Accordingly, buses and trains will again be transporting passengers as per the number of seats available, Transport Minister Gamini Lokuge told Times Online. Addtionally, hand washing, temperature checks and social distancing will be mandatory at railways stations islandwide.
Meanwhile, Prisons Commissioner General Thushara Upuldeniya said all prisons will be closed to visitors with immediate effect. Prisoners will also not be allowed food from outside. The temporary restrictions will apply until further notice.
