A new irrigation policy will be presented to the cabinet and parliament very soon, government news portal reported.
Irrigation and Water Resource Management Minister Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa made these comments yesterday (19th May) at the Irrigation Department Auditorium.
The new policy will strengthen the Irrigation sector said the Minister. He said at present there is no law to protect the lakes and irrigations systems. Therefore, as a solution to this the new policy will be introduced, the website reported.
