A new traffic plan has been implemented to minimise traffic congestion in the vicinity of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) since yesterday (Dec 23).
The plan was carried out by Airport and Aviation Services Ltd., Police, and other security units, BIA manager H.S. Hettiarachchi said.
According to the new arrangement, vehicles heading towards the airport from Colombo, Negombo, and Minuwangoda, should use a common entry point.
The manner in which the vehicles should reach the arrival and departure terminal would be displayed through signal boards.
