A nine-year old child has died in an accident involving a petroleum bowser and a bicycle in Madurankuliya yesterday (Jul 16).
Police said the incident had occurred at around 8:20 pm along the Puttalam – Colombo main road.
The victim, Dilshan Madushanka, had collided with the bowser while taking a turn onto the main road. He had been heading towards a shop at the time of the incident.
The driver of the bowser and his vehicle are currently under police custody.
