A 19-year old student of St Thomas College Matara was stabbed to death in Elewella by another student of Rahula Vidyalaya Matara earlier today (Nov 24).
The stabbing had taken place following an argument that broke out between two groups of students.
The victim has been identified as Ravindra Gimhana, a resident of Thihagoda, Matara.
Meanwhile, another student who also sustained injuries in the incident is currently receiving treatment at the Matara General hospital.
The main suspect along with two others linked to the stabbing have fled the area.
Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
