The Ministry of Health states that there is no need for Sri Lankans to restrict their air travel owing to the new coronavirus that has originated out of Wuhan, China.
Issuing a media release, the Health Ministry notes that even the World Health Organization (WHO) had stated that there was no need to impose restrictions on air travel due to the virus.
The Ministry said Sri Lanka's healt services were also keeping a close watch on developments regarding the virus and had taken measures to check whether any passengers aflicted by the virus were arriving in the country. The health unit at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) has been given the necessary instructions in this regard, it added.
