Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils and Regional Development Sanath Jayasuriya today said that he will not contest the upcoming parliamentary elections due personal reasons. He also said that he has resigned from the post of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Organizer in Matara Electorate and informed to the President Maithripala Sirisena of his decision. Mr Jayasuriya was elected from Matara district with the most number of preferential votes.
