Northern Province Governor Suren Raghavan has called for a report on the lands which are yet to be released to the people in the North.
He made these remarks during a discussion held with Northern Army Commander Major Dharshana Hettiarachchi earlier today (Mar 05).
During the discussion, the Governor had requested for a complete report that includes the number of lands which have been released and are yet to be released.
He had also pointed out that a special programme is currently underway under the directives of President Maithripala Sirisena to release lands which were accquired by the government during the war to the rightful owners.
Mr. Raghavan had also insisted that people who cannot receive their lands due to security reasons must be provided with replacement lands in due course.
