The National People's Power has nominated Dr Harini Amarasuriya for the National List seat allocated to the party.
Dr Amarasuriya is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Studies, at the Open University of Sri Lanka. She holds a BA (Honours) from the University of Delhi, India and an MA Macquarie University. She obtained her PhD from the University of Edinburgh.
Her work has included research in the areas of youth unemployment and conflict, gender, child protection, globalisation and development.
