Based on the results of PCR tests conducted up to now, 492 persons from the Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Centre have so far been identified as being positive for COVID-19, Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva stated this evening.
He added that 429 of these are inmates undergoing rehabilitation while 47 are staff members at the centre. A further 16 persons who are close contacts of infected individuals from the centre have also been identified as positive for COVID-19, he added. These include several individuals from the Rajanganaya area.
